For our exhibition, “Basquiat and music”, we designed a place of sensory immersion: La Fabrique. This central and monumental element steeps visitors in Basquiat’s musical world. These audio and visual experiences allow them to get to grips with the artist’s works and understand their underlying messages, as well as the important role music played in his work. Following our visit to the exhibition room of the Philharmonie de Paris, it was clear to us that the space should not be partitioned so as to showcase its generous volumes. The display walls do not fully close off the sections, always revealing a glimpse of La Fabrique. This bold architecture is split into four passageways, each introducing different parts, and stands out for its material quality, making it unmissable.
