This scenography project is built on two intentions. The first seeks to immerse the visitor in Jean-Michel Basquiat’s New York, a city marked by extremely high crime rates in the 70s and 80s. Twhis project, inspired by “The Cage” – the city’s most famous urban basketball courts – attempts to recreate the dark and tumultuous atmosphere of the time. The second intention, drawing on a study of visitors to the Philharmonie, offers two circuits that respond to the requirements of two major categories: occasional visitors and expert visitors. One, short circuit, structured into sections and equipped with simple acoustic devices, is available to occasional visitors. The other, a longer circuit that can be freely explored and is equipped with a personal and personalised acoustic device.
