The starting point of my degree topic was a wish to work with the model as an object, not as a blueprint for a project. By making it the principal decor for a set design, the principle of which will be filmed and retranscribed, I also asked myself questions about one of the challenges of this very unusual period of time: how can we maintain access to art and culture without being able to produce physical theatre performances? The play chosen for my project is Je Disparais by the Norwegian writer and playwright Arne Lygre, which tells the story of two women who are forced to leave their country in a hurry. The political background has very little importance in this play; the subject is flight and the fragility of the self.
