This topic is a continuation of my dissertation on the city of Beirut. As I have a strong attachment to the city and its heritage, which is fast disappearing, I decided it was important to work on the buildings, fixed in time like a reminder of a memory. The project will therefore involve working on the existing city, bringing its most abandoned areas to life by allowing them to breathe. As bearers of the city’s cultural past, the selected buildings will be theoretically occupied, partially re-embodying their original function in order to preserve their soul. Developed on three scales, this temporary project will link up the city, the buildings and the markers, creating a communication network on a pedestrian route, punctuated by aedicula to encourage discovery of the ruins.
