A club is a structure characterised by the experiencing of a space by a community familiar with a shared culture. Music, the environment, individuals and psychotropics are all involved in the distortion and the increased intensity of pleasure, as it becomes unusual, unique, dreamlike. The movements of the body may appear to be an imitation of a kind of sexual intercourse, cadenced by the bass of robotic and repetitive music, like an act of penetration. A club is not a space but a state, a temporal position freed of all constructed limits. It is a collection of acts, objects and words, strictly codified and founded on a belief in its sure-fire ability to set us free for a night.
