For Basquiat, music was a both a driver and his key influence. Our project, the wall king man, aims to highlight this relationship through an audio-visual exploration cadenced by the environments and atmospheres experienced by the artist. We have chosen to approach Basquiat’s life like an audio montage. Following this principle, the space is cut up like a mixtape, strip by strip, to enable a composition based on the artist’s life. Back and forth, stop and go, in line with the different experiences or shocks in Basquiat’s life. Surrounded by the sound-based influences of Basquiat and the use of this narrative immersion, the visitor is transported into a genuine experience, where each section showcases the different themes addressed.
